FINAL RSVP FOR AGM AND CABLEPRICE DINNER AND DRINKS THURSDAY 28TH OCTOBER
Minerals West Coast’s annual general meeting is just over a week away – if you are planning to attend but simply haven’t had time to RSVP yet, please do so before midday on Friday the 22nd of October.

CablePrice is generously sponsoring dinner and drinks for Minerals West Coast members attending the AGM next Thursday.

The AGM will start at 4:00pm on Thursday the 28th of October at the Reefton St John’s Centre on Smith Street (north of Little Biddy’s Gin outlet).

PROGRAMME FOR 28TH OCTOBER
Time
Agenda item
4:00pm-5:00pm
AGM: The annual general meeting will involve presentation of financials to members, updates from the trustees, nomination and elections of trustees and a chairperson, and general business.
5:00pm-6:00pm
Presentations from guest speakers
New Zealand Petroleum and Minerals staff

In what will have to be a remote session due to current travel restrictions, New Zealand Petroleum and Minerals staff will update Minerals West Coast members on measures being taken to address current delays with processing of mineral permit applications and speak generally to any questions attendants may have.
MinEx chief executive, Wayne Scott
Wayne Scott will explain the implications of upcoming removal of exemptions that have until now applied to quarries and alluvial mines under the Health and Safety at Work Act’s mining and quarrying regulations. Smaller scale operations have until now operated under exemptions to avoid imposition of disproportionate costs on lower risk mining operations. In December 2019, the government signed off on changes that will bring alluvial goldmines and quarries into the legislation. Wayne will cover how these changes affect mines and quarries and the impact of these on all operations.
6:00pm
Once the presentations finish about 6:00pm, attendants are invited to get together at Wilson’s Hotel and Café on Broadway in Reefton for dinner and drinks, sponsored by CablePrice.
